The George Washington University Milken School of Public Health on behalf of Frederick Memorial Hospital and the Frederick County Health Department is looking for participants for a focus group being held on Sunday, February 14,  9-10:30am at the Walkersville Town Hall, 21 W. Frederick St, Walkersville, MD 21793, first floor meeting room.  Group members will share experiences and thoughts on the County’s current health care services and programs.  Your input will help Frederick County identify the unmet health needs of county residents to improve health care, services and programs.  To participate in the focus group you must 1) be a county resident for at least 12 months and 2) over the age of 18.

Snow

Residents are required to move vehicle(s) off the street until the Town crew has completed its snow plowing. Vehicles parked on the streets will be towed. Shoveling or blowing snow into the street is prohibited.

The Town is creating a list of potential contractors to assist with snow removal during substantial snow events.  The purpose of the list is to have local names with adequate equipment that are available and interested in being on an on-call basis to help Town employees remove snow from public thoroughfares.  Snow Removal Contractors 2016

ETHICS COMMISSION:

The commission administers the Code of Ethics, Chapter 26 of the Town Code.  They review Financial Disclosure Forms, conflicts of interest, and insure that the Town is in compliance with State of Maryland ethics requirements.  The Ethics Commission is an advisory board to the Burgess and Commissioners, it includes 3 members and 1 alternate.  Letters of interest accepted at Town Hall, 21 W. PLANNING COMMISSION:

The Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing development plans, considering changes to planning-related ordinances, and updating the Town Comprehensive Plan. Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month, with as-needed workshops on the 2nd Tuesday.You must be a resident of Walkersville. No experience is necessary.  Anyone interested should contact Town Planning and Zoning Administrator Susan Hauver at the Town Hall at 301-845-4500, walkersvilleplanner@comcast.net, or submit a letter of interest to: Susan Hauver, Town of Walkersville, P.O. INVITATION TO BID
LIBERTY STREET WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT

Project generally comprises construction of approximately 720ft of 8″water main replacement and replacement of twelve(12) individual water services, valves, two (2) fire hydrants, and paving repair and related work.

Sealed Bids will be received at the Walkersville Town Hall until 2PM, March 2, 2016. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10AM, February 18, 2016 in Walkersville Town Hall, 21 W Frederick St, Walkersville, MD. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged.

Copies of Bidding Documents may be purchased at the Walkersville Town Hall for $50/set. No returns.

Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid security in the form of a certified check, bank check, or Bid Bond.

The successful bidder will be required to be bonded to the Town of Walkersville in a sum equal to 100% of contract price. Such bond shall also include Labor and Material Payment Bond .
